What is Guzzl?
Guzzl is an indulgent deli in the heart of Brixton's vibrant foodie community. We proudly support as many local suppliers as possible and our shelves are full of yummy products from small independent food makers.
The website offers customers the ability to order custom made food hamper boxes filled with the best products on our shelves.
Why are you called Guzzl?
That's kind of a long story involving whisky. The short version is that any domain name involving the word "guzzle" was already taken. Someone who guzzles is someone who appreciates and enjoys good food, in whatever form it may take. And that's what we are all about.
I thought I was going to the Sozzl website but landed at Guzzl.
Yeah, you did. That's because we have merged the two websites. But everything that you could order at Sozzl is available at Guzzl, plus all the lovely food things!

What is in a Guzzl Box?
Whatever you would like! You can build your own or choose a Selection box and let us do the choosing for you.
How many items do I get in the box?
As many as you like, but they all have to fit! But we usually cram everything in!
How long does it take to arrive?
We use a reliable 24 hour courier service, so typically you will get the box no later than 48 hours after you ordered it. The packing elves can get items out the same day if required at a small extra charge. Just email or phone to let us know its super urgent.
I have a food allergy, can you 100% guarantee that you can supply products without something I am allergic to?
We can make sure that each product in the box does not contain the allergen in question.
Can you add a card with a message to the box?
Sure thing. Just add your message when prompted at checkout.
Will you be sending chilled goods in a Guzzl Box?
Not at this stage. We are a start-up and at the moment we are only sending products that are happy travelling at ambiant temperatures.
Where do you find your products?
We love supporting local producers and have over 30 based within a few miles of the Brixton store. So often we find tiny producers at local farmers markets and sometimes they wander in with an incredibly tasty treat for us to try.
Every product we sell is from a small producer - so nothing you can find in a supermarket.
What's with the packaging?
We only use environmentally friendly, biodegradable packaging material. It costs slightly more but there is enough waste floating around the world without us adding to it. We hope you can re-use your Guzzl box next time you need to send something in the post.
What happens if I am not there to receive my Guzzl Box?
We feed it to the pigeons. Sorry.
No we don't. We use DHL to deliver our boxes, so you will probably get one of those helpful little cards left for you.
About the Brixton store
What are your opening hours?
We are open six days a week from 11am to 6.30 on weekdays (until 7pm on Fridays) and 10am until 7pm on Saturdays and 10am till 5pm on Sundays.
What types of products do you sell in your store?
Our Guzzlers travel the length and breadth of the UK to find the best yummy things from small independent producers.
At the store you can find premium chocolate and confectionary, oils and vinegars, coffees, teas, hot chocolates, biscuits, sauces, ketchups, chutneys and relishes, chilli sauces, jams, marmalades and caramel spreads.
Come in and we promise you will find products and brands you have never seen before!
Do you sell lots of vegan things?
Yes we do. Loads in fact, including chocolates, paté, sauces, drinks and snacks.
How about organic products?
Some of our product range is organic, but not all of it. To go on the shelf it has to taste great, be made with love and care, use the best ingredients and not be a silly price. If it is organic then so much the better!
Do you sell products that come in plastic packaging?
We encourage our suppliers to use non plastic packaging wherever possible. We also have a policy of not selling any drinks that come in a single use plastic bottle.
We also offer olive oil refills and discounts for customers who provide their own container when buying loose olives.
I have discovered something amazing that should definitely be stocked in Guzzl. Can I tell you all about it?
Yes please! We love recommendations. Email us at Andrew@guzzl.club please.
Who is Guzzl Club?
Guzzl was founded by Andrew Murray-Watson. Andrew started his professional life as a business journalist, where he developed a taste for the finer things in life (paid for on someone else's expense account). His first career ended after a stint as Business Editor of the Independent on Sunday when he went into the equally murky world of corporate communications.
Andrew finally got round to eating (and selling) nice things for a living with the launch of Guzzl in November 2017. He still works in PR as well to pay the bills.
What days do you deliver?
We aim to deliver within 24 hours of your order being placed. If you have an emergency and immediately need 10 slabs of beer and a case of gin, then do get in touch and we can see what we can do to get to you quicker.
What happens if I am not in when you try to deliver my order?
We will try to leave it with a neighbour or a designated safe place if possible.
If I place an order at 11pm on a Monday, will you deliver it the next day?
We will always try to deliver at the first available opportunity, but we can't absolutely promise if it is a last minute order and we are incredibly busy.
How much do deliveries cost and when do you deliver?
Local deliveries are £5. Nationwide deliveries cost £7.95.
Do you have a license to sell alcohol?
Yes absolutely. The owner of the business holds a personal license from Lambeth Council and also a premise licence for Guzzl in Brixton Village, where orders are dispatched from.
Do you offer click and collect?
Yes we do from Guzzl in Brixton Village. Select the click and collect option at checkout and we will have your goodies ready for you when you want to swing by. We can't promise you won't see something extra you want when you pop in though.
Do you offer any price guarantees?
You will do well to find cheaper prices for the beer we sell. The very large online retailers of wines and spirits might be able to offer slightly lower prices for some products. But they don't offer such great delivery options and don't have the same philosophy of supporting local businesses as we do.
How can you sell at lower prices than other retailers?
Because we are not greedy and recognise the importance of being a community minded store.
What about COVID-19 and the risk of receiving deliveries?
We abide by all government guidelines to minimise the risks of spreading COVID-19, including the mandatory wearing of latex gloves and face masks for staff who are fulfilling orders. The delivery chap will ring your doorbell and then scarper to a safe distance before you open your door.
